All services are provided free of charge.

Patients are seen by the specialist palliative care service at varying times of their disease process. Treatment may take place over a period of a few days to anything over a year.

The majority of patients seen by the service have advanced cancer but we have many patients with neurological diseases such as motor neurone disease, those with advanced HIV disease and people with advancing respiratory, cardiac and renal disease. 

Yes.  The staff are specialists in the control of pain and many other symptoms experienced by patients.  However, the care provided is given to the patient with support, counseling and advice to family members as part of the philosophy of care.
