As a social enterprise we are proud to actively support the communities we serve. As part of our commitment to local people we have launched the MCH Academy. The MCH Academy provides financial support to help enable students to study for a business degree at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Through the MCH Academy we offer sponsorship and internships to local students and the opportunity to be part of our dynamic and innovative organisation and have a pivotal role in the exciting projects we are involved in now and in the future.

Tom Davies and Mark Morgan joined the MCH Academy in the Autumn of 2014 when they both started at Canterbury Christ Church University undertaking degrees in business studies. Both students are being sponsored by MCH during their studies and completed their 12 months, paid internships with us in August 2017.

During their internship year Tom and Mark completed placements throughout MCH including HR, comms and marketing, finance, contracting and performance and clinical quality, in order to give them a business-based development structure that will help them develop commercial skills within MCH.

"We have really enjoyed our Internship as part of the MCH academy over the last 12 months. It has given us the chance to apply our academic knowledge into a working environment and has given us a broader understanding of how a social enterprise business works.

The invaluable knowledge that we’ve gained from working in different departments at MCH has given us a better understanding of our strengths and weaknesses as individuals and will also contribute towards achieving better grades.

The last year has given us both a great idea of how we want to progress our careers and with the help and support that we have received from the mentors at MCH we feel that we have developed the right attributes and competencies to give us the best start.

Overall, it has been a pleasure to work within an organisation with strong community core values and also work alongside members of staff who made our experiences welcoming and friendly.”

Tom and Mark have now both taken up part time roles within MCH whilst completing their final year at university.
