-
How can I access the service
If you would like to refer a school aged child to our service, please complete and return our referral.
-
What if my child isn’t accessing education in school
If your child is not in education, employment or training or they are electively home educated, they can still access the full range of school nursing services, provided they live in Medway. If they do not live in Medway, school nursing should be accessed in their local area.
We have a referral form that can be completed by either a professional or a parent, and will soon have a young person referral form available on our website too. Once we receive a referral, it is assessed to confirm we are the most appropriate service and the referrer will be informed of next steps.
For secondary aged young people, we offer a confidential text messaging service called Chathealth. This is an NHS approved service allowing young people to text directly through to a school nurse based in Medway for support and advice on any health worries or concerns they may have. The number is 07480 635786
Appointments can be booked in clinic based settings, as well as other community venues such as family hubs. We may also see the child in their own home.
If you have any questions, or are unsure whether we are the correct service, please contact 0300 123 3444.
From 23rd March 2026, if you are referring in to School Health for emotional wellbeing concerns, the referral will be declined.
