A team of physiotherapists who have a specialist interest and knowledge of a wide range of neurological and developmental difficulties. We work with other children’s therapy services (eg- paediatrician’s, Occupational therapists, speech and language therapists) to provide a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and treatment.

We are based at Snapdragons Children’s Centre but will see your child for assessment and treatment at one of our clinic sites, in school, nursery or at home as appropriate. We work alongside education and tertiary hospitals to provide effective therapy and management for our children.

  • Common conditions we see:
  • Neurological conditions, e.g. cerebral palsy
  • Neuromuscular conditions, e.g. muscular dystrophy
  • Genetic disorders, e.g. Down’s syndrome
  • Developmental delay
  • Post fracture/surgery, e.g. post botox or SDR surgery
  • Assessment: your physiotherapist may assess your child’s strength, balance, quality of movement, function, posture, motor development, etc. to help them build an accurate picture of how best to treat your child.
  • Treatment: the physiotherapist will discuss and plan with you regarding ongoing therapy intervention if required. Treatment can include:
  • Exercise programmes to be done at home and/or at school
  • Blocks of therapy with technical instructors or therapists to work on specific exercises and goals set by physios
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals if appropriate including referrals to other services
  • Provide support to children and their families to maximise a child’s independence
  • Can provide equipment to help support your child’s posture or maximise their mobility if appropriate and required
