Carbon reduction plan
Why does MCH have a Carbon Reduction Plan?
In 2020, the NHS committed to net zero emissions. The Delivering a Net Zero National Health Service report set out their ambitions. The Health and Care Act 2022 reinforced this commitment, and laid out new duties for integrated care boards (ICBs), NHS trusts, providers and foundation trusts to consider statutory emissions and environmental targets in their decisions. These are shared in green plans and carbon reduction plans.
