Medway Community Healthcare (MCH) provides a wide range of high quality community health services for Medway residents; from health visitors and district nurses to speech and language therapists and out of hours urgent care.
We have over 20 physiotherapists with a wide variety of experience, and are all registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professions Council, most have at least five years experience. We have specialist physiotherapists in acupuncture, trauma and orthopaedics (fractures and surgery). We also have a team of technical instructors and physiotherapy assistants who specialise in chronic pain, lower limb replacements and hand therapy.
We run physiotherapy clinics across Medway and our clinic at MCH House, Gillingham has a specially equipped gym to aid rehabilitation. All clinics have parking facilities and disabled access.
We are proud to offer one-to-one treatment sessions as well as over eighteen well established rehabilitation group classes which include ankle, back, leg, joint replacement and shoulder classes. We now have four classes – TOAST Program (Targeting Osteoarthirits with Specific Therapy), shoulder class, joint replacement class and shoulder class.
We have a strong history of working with consultants and local GPs and as an integral part of the local NHS are uniquely able to refer patients directly to other NHS services such as podiatry, occupational therapy, the falls team and community physiotherapy. We accept patients from out of area specialist hospitals who may refer patients after surgery (i.e. spinal surgery). We also have close links with the Medway Exercise Referral Scheme which promotes and supports people with exercise in the community.
Our friendly and expert team are committed to improving your health and quality of life. We will involve you in your care every step of the way to ensure you are involved in the treatment and management of your condition
