Physiotherapy (musculoskeletal)

What we do
Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapists help people with problems in their muscles, bones, joints, and soft tissues. In an outpatient setting, they:
- Assess and diagnose aches, pains, and injuries.
- Create personalised treatment plans to reduce pain, improve movement, and prevent problems from getting worse.
- Teach exercises that can be done at home or in the clinic.
- Give advice on posture, work, and daily activities to support recovery.
- Guide patients through recovery after injuries, surgery, or flare-ups of long-term conditions.
- The goal is to help patients move better, feel less pain, and get back to their usual activities safely.
- Signpost to support groups/activities within the local community.

During assessment, you may be asked to remove some items of clothing during your appointment. Please ensure you dress appropriately to enable this. You are welcome to bring a relative or a friend to your appointments.
Alternatively, we can arrange a chaperone if you would like someone to be with you. Please bring a list of your current medicines. If you have had a scan or x-ray outside your local NHS provider, please bring the report if you have it or the details of where you had your imaging performed.
