Pilates is a mat based exercise class that works on retraining the correct activation of the deep abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles. Research has shown that retraining these muscles reduces the re-occurrence of low back pain.  If your physiotherapist feels that you may benefit from some pilates exercises they can refer you to our pilates class which consists of four sessions over four weeks.  This helps to provide you with numerous exercises, and the basic understanding of pilates, which you can continue with at home.
