Dawn's story

Dawn Cork

I have been a community nurse in Medway for over ten years now.

When I joined, after working in acute care at Medway Hospital, community nursing was quite a small team.

In my first eight years in the role, I had the opportunity to move around different teams caring for people with diverse medical conditions in a wide range of settings. I was able to gain so much experience doing this, and learn so much very quickly.

I had two spells of maternity leave in this time and the support I received during this time was incredible, I was fully supported in moving onto reduced hours to fit around my childcare needs.

Around three years ago, I moved to community cardiology within MCH, giving me the opportunity to work within a specialist, multi-disciplined team and pursue my interest in cardiology. Since working with the team, I have been able to advance my career and expand my knowledge even further.

Interested in joining the team?
