About the Wisdom Hospice

The hospice team of specialist clinicians, doctors, therapists and nurses along with counsellors, social care workers, welfare advisors, complimentary therapists and volunteers work around the clock to make sure that everyone has the palliative care they need each day.

At the Wisdom Hospice there are fifteen-beds for patients to use when their symptoms become too severe to be managed at home, or, if they choose, at the end of their life.

The Day Hospice offers activities and entertainment to patients, who can travel from home with the help of hospice volunteer drivers, as well as patients on the ward who are feeling a little better.

Each year, the hospice palliative care team cares for around 900 people across Medway and Swale in their own homes helping them to manage their symptoms, by providing help such as pain relief, without being admitted to the hospice or a hospital.

The team supports people at the end of their life by providing nursing care, medication and equipment to try to enable those who wish to, to die at home.
