Learning disabilities

The learning disabilities team are a team who specialise in the care of people with learning disabilities. For eligibility to the learning disabilities team you need to be 18 years and over with a diagnosis of a learning disability. If you are unsure please call on 01634 337513 to discuss. NHS logo

What we do

  • give health advice
  • provide nursing advice, assessments,help and support for health and behavioural issues
  • help people to access health at GP surgeries, dentists, hospitals and more
  • help to eat and drink safely and comfortably
  • help to express thoughts clearly and be better understood by other people
  • help people to move and be comfortable
  • work with other health and social care professionals to give people with learning disabilities the right care
  • provide training for individuals, carers and professionals
  • provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and intervention such as hydrotherapy, postural care and individualised exercise sessions.
