Cardiac rehabilitation

The cardiac rehabilitation team helps people with certain heart conditions to have the best quality of life and aims to help people understand their condition; improve recovery from heart problems; advise people on beneficial lifestyle changes; and reduce the chance of further heart problems

We provide support and education to people who have had heart attacks, angioplasty (stents), coronary bypass surgery or open heart valve surgery, delivered by a team consisting of specialist nurses, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, physiotherapy assistants and administrative staff.

Our service gives advice whilst in hospital and at home if required. We also assess to determine the best course of action for each individual and provide group exercise, education classes, education and advice.

Individuals will automatically be referred to us by the staff at the hospital where you received your treatment. We also take referrals from the heart failure team >

If you would like to speak to the team, or you have any further queries, please contact us by email or by calling us on 01634 382840 between the hours of 08.30-16.30 (Monday to Friday).
