Medway Community Healthcare (MCH) provides a wide range of high quality community health services for Medway residents; from health visitors and district nurses to speech and language therapists and out of hours urgent care.
The school nursing team is currently running a reduced service, but are still offering support virtually through their phone and text service. To speak to someone please call 0300 123 3444 and choose option 1 and then option 3
School health team includes qualified nurses who have additional qualifications in public health (School Nurses) as well as registered nurses (School Staff nurses). We work with the local communities, the family and individual children/young people to ensure children health needs are met. We work in different settings including schools.
We offer health assessments to children as well as advice and support for children and parents around health issues such as continence, behaviour, sleep and emotional health.
In addition to this we offer support to schools around healthcare plans, advice on anaphylaxis, and epilepsy awareness. We also provide support with puberty sessions and public health promotion.
School nurses do not offer standard health checks, please seekadvice from your GP. If you are seeking advice from a school nurse, you or your school needs to complete a referral form available on the website. If you do not know who your school nurse is and you would like to make contact please ring the duty desk on 0300 123 3444 (option 2)

Alternatively please speak to your health visitor, GP or Nursery/School who may consider a referral to our service.
Following referral you will be invited to attend either a parent education training session or an assessment screen.
