About us

Medway Community Healthcare (MCH) is an award winning social enterprise and Community Interest Company established in 2011. We have a strong history of partnership working with a number of local stakeholders including Medway Council, Medway Maritime Hospital, local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS England, and more. We are one of the largest businesses in the area with over 1300 staff.

We're incredibly proud of what we do, and all our achievements reflect the passion, dedication and commitment demonstrated by our staff across our services. These qualities are supported by our values of:

Our social enterprise

As a social enterprise any profits we make are used to further improve our services or into local communities via our charity Medway Cares. We are owned and run by our employees on behalf of the community, and trade as a business for social purposes.

We have also invested in other social enterprises whose social objectives are aligned to ours, and whose services or products could benefit our patients. We’ve also taken on many apprentices since 2010 and where possible buy our goods and services from local companies.

Our patients, local stakeholders and our staff as co-owners, have the opportunity to ensure that we are able to;

  • deliver services according to need and not perceived demand,
  • deliver innovative ways to provide care closer to home,
  • deliver services in a more flexible, productive and efficient manner,
  • deliver services that respect every patients' dignity and right to privacy.
