Chlamydia screening

For the under 25's chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted infection that can easily be treated with antibiotics. Up to 1 in 10 young people are infected with chlamydia. If left untreated chlamydia can lead to complications such as pelvic infection, discharge and infertility.

Most men and women will not know if they have the infection as there are usually no symptoms. However chlamydia can cause damage without symptoms.

Chlamydia is spread by having unprotected sex with someone who has the infection.

Ask your doctor or nurse for information about testing.
